Alternative Giving for Mary’s Meals can apply to any occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, or could be gifted to a loved one on Valentines Day.
Mary’s Meals Mug
If you’re looking for an alternative gift, why not get hold of a big blue Mary’s Meals mug? These mugs are similar to those we use to provide Mary’s Meals to over 500,000 children every school day. And this isn’t your everyday mug – as well as being able to drink from it, the mugs also have lids that allow them to be used as collecting cans. These plastic mugs are being offered as an alternative gift for a suggested minimum donation of £7 each, which is how much it costs us to provide Mary’s Meals for a whole school year in Malawi. There is an additional cost for postage and packaging. The Big Blue Mugs are available for distribution in the UK.
Gift Cards
This form of alternative giving is when someone makes a donation to Mary’s Meals in lieu of buying a present for an occasion such as a christening, birthday or wedding. We then provide them with a gift card that they can give the person instead which explains that a donation has been made on their behalf. We find this is particularly popular at Christmas. We suggest a minimum donation of £11 for each gift card.
