Director of Finance and Operations
Mary’s Meals International is a fast-growing international charity, currently providing over 923,000 hungry and impoverished children in five continents with a daily school meal.
Mary’s Meals International is the central organisation that co-ordinates, supports and leads the global Mary’s Meals movement, under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and through the work of three global directorates: Programmes, Finance and Operations, and Communications and Fundraising.
The Mary’s Meals global movement is facilitated through the Mary’s Meals International Network which spans the countries of Austria, Canada, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, the Netherlands, Spain, UK, USA, and Zambia. Mary’s Meals International also has a number of partnering agencies delivering life-changing programmes in Benin, Burma, Ecuador, Haiti, India, Kenya, South Sudan, Thailand and Uganda.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be an integral part of the internal leadership team that will support the continuous development and growth of the global movement. As the Director of Finance and Operations you are responsible for the development and implementation of Mary’s Meals financial management strategy and contribute to the development of the organisation’s strategic goals. In addition to the strategic components, the Director of Finance and Operations is charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures in the finance, HR, IT and general operational realms.
You will lead in continuing to build the organisation’s capacity to manage its finances as it grows, to bring a strategic, high-level perspective to the organisation’s finance and accounting needs and support the Chief Operating Officer to make decisions through a financial lens.
This will require close liaison with a network of established international groups and as part of the leadership team will also have a role in supporting the formation of new groups throughout the world as the organisation continues to expand.
It is essential that you are CCAB qualified, with significant post qualification experience working at a senior management level, self-motivated and able to work independently, with excellent communication, organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.
