Christine's story
Christine, an 82-year-old retired primary school teacher, set up a monthly donation earlier this year. She says: “I love knowing that I am helping to feed children in classrooms all over the world from my home in Hertfordshire.”
Her kindness helps us to feed children like 12-year-old Tarek. He is a Syrian refugee who, having escaped the conflict in his country, now lives in a settlement on the outskirts of Beirut in Lebanon.
Tarek loves school. He says, with a bright smile: “The food helps me concentrate and study more. It is important to come to school to learn and to get a good job. I’d like to open a vegetable shop in the future and I can learn how to make good calculations.”
