Five fabulous fundraising ideas for summer

Come rain or shine, there are so many creative ways you can fundraise for Mary’s Meals this summer.

1. Set up a lemonade stand

Ideal for a summer’s afternoon, how about mixing up a batch of delicious lemonade and running a juice stand? After perfecting his very own recipe, our marvellous 11-year-old supporter George has been selling lemonade to raise funds for the past three years. Last year he squeezed 340 lemons to make 70 litres of lemonade and raise an amazing £450. What a refreshing idea!

2. Host a sizzling barbeque or park picnic

There’s no better way to celebrate summer than to fire up a barbeque or host a picnic in the park. So why not ask for a tasty donation for the delicious grub to raise money to help feed children in their place of education. What s’more could you ask for?

3. Get active and take to the great outdoors

Walk, cycle, run or climb. Whatever the activity, make the most of the lovely weather and raise some funds for Mary’s Meals! Super gran Ellison is one such ambitious supporter who cycled 134 miles across Scotland along the John Muir Way to mark her 80th birthday. Are you up to the challenge?

4. Run a delicious summer bake sale

Whether you’re a cupcake connoisseur or a baking novice, grab a slice of the fundraising action this summer by arranging a bake sale. Star baker Evie organised a bake sale at her home, asking family, friends and neighbours to donate to Mary’s Meals in return for a yummy treat.

5. Organise a sponsored dog walk

Take to your local park this summertime and organise a sponsored dog walk with dog lovers in your community. Della, her family and trusted dog Toby did just that, raising £150 with the help of their congregation from Our Lady of Fatima Parish in White City in London. It sounds like a paw-sitively perfect day out!
