Big-hearted Glasgow pupils are hoping to transform the lives of hungry children in Zambia with their fundraising efforts.

Pupils and staff at Hillpark Secondary have been supporting our Double The Love campaign since it started in December.

Until 1 March 2019, the UK government will match public donations to Mary’s Meals’ Double The Love campaign, up to £2 million, helping us reach more hungry children in Zambia with a daily meal in school.

Third year pupil, Liam Gouby said: “When I joined the school’s group I wanted to help children get fed and have good health. I am really glad that I got involved.”

Classmate Nathan Moore added: “As the children receiving Mary Meals are of similar age to us, their situation really hit home for me.”

Over the years, inspirational pupils at Hillpark, who sponsor Kasupe school in Malawi, have raised more than £15,000 for Mary’s Meals.

The group’s recent fundraising will go towards their sponsor a school project, with the matched funds from Double The Love being used to transform the lives of children in Zambia.
