Amazing Graham Eastbury has walked 80 miles to celebrate turning 80 – and reach out to impoverished communities.

He trekked from Eastbourne Parish Church, where he is the church warden, to Canterbury Cathedral and shared the money raised between Mary’s Meals and his other favourite charity.

Graham completed the 80-mile challenge in just eight days last August when the weather was a little warmer, leaving him free to enjoy his milestone birthday today (Wednesday 24 January).

He said: “I really enjoyed the walk and didn’t even get a blister!

“It was lovely to have support along the way. My friend Nick and his dog Oscar kept me company on a few of the days and my daughter and granddaughter joined me for the last three days.

“It’s great to be able to help a charity that is doing such good work.”

Graham attributes his good flexibility and balance to Tai Chi, which he teaches in his local area on a voluntary basis.

Happy birthday, Graham, and thank you for your wonderful support!
