Pupils and staff at St Roch’s Secondary School in Glasgow have been busy supporting our Double The Love campaign.

Before 1 March 2019, the UK government will match public donations to the campaign, up to £2 million, helping us to reach more hungry children in Zambia.

St Roch’s amazing fundraising efforts has seen staff and pupils host bake sales, Friday football tournaments, and film screenings.

Pupils recently took the opportunity to think about what life is like for children in some of the world’s poorest communities and how their support is making a difference.

Second year pupil, Lauren said: “I love that Mary’s Meals helps to feed children all around the world, helping them reach their potential in school.”

Fellow student Eve added: “I think it only takes one person’s idea to spark change in the world and Mary’s Meals proves that — that’s why I love it.”

Classmate Olga said: “Whenever I have spare change, or money in general, I always put it into the Mary’s Meals box in class. Mary’s Meals is genuine about its mission to help hungry children all over the world.”

What superstars! And, thanks to their support, children who would otherwise be out of school, are instead sitting in a classroom with a full stomach, learning how to read and write.
