Magnus and the shed

A special message for churches and faith groups

Our founder reaches out to parishioners across the UK amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Our founder, Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow, has recorded a message of hope for priests, ministers and church leaders to share during lockdown.

Filmed outside the shed in Argyll where Mary’s Meals began, Magnus calls for people to stay faithful to its mission to feed hungry children living in some of the world’s poorest countries.

We hope priests, ministers and church leaders will share this video message as part of virtual services, as well as on their church websites and social media channels.

Our UK Executive Director, Daniel Adams, explains: “Every year, churches across the UK invite our wonderful volunteers to join with them in sharing the Mary’s Meals story. These talks are incredibly important to raising awareness of our work, and we look forward to offering them again as soon as it is safe to do so.

“Until we can meet again, I hope church leaders will share this special message from our founder and ask their parishioners to pray for the children who rely on our life-changing meals.”

With schools closing around the world, we are working hard to find safe ways to reach hungry children at this extremely difficult time. You can read more about this here.

The message is available on our YouTube channel . If you would like to receive it in another form, please get in touch.

It costs just £19.15 to feed a child for a whole school year.
