Walking together for the children that we feed

During this Jubilee Year, we're holding a very special event to raise awareness and join together to pray for the communities that we serve. We would be delighted if you joined us as Pilgrims of Hope on some or all of the Augustine Camino, starting at Rochester Cathedral, finishing at the Shrine of St Augustine in Ramsgate, and passing through Aylesford Priory, the National Shrine of St Jude in Faversham, St Martin’s, Canterbury, and Minster Abbey.

The pilgrimage will take us to four of the designated Jubilee churches and shrines in Southwark Archdiocese:

  • The Friars, Aylesford

A journey of prayer

We hope to be joined by a priest during the pilgrimage who will offer Mass and lead our prayers. Our pilgrimage will end at the Shrine of St Augustine in Ramsgate in time for Midday Mass on Sunday, 8 September.

We would be happy to arrange accommodation along the way for those who wish to join us for more than a day. As a rough guide, single occupancy rooms cost about £80 per night per person, shared accommodation is £45 per night per person, and camping costs £15 per night per person. If there is sufficient interest, we can also arrange baggage transfers each day for a small fee, as well as transport back to the start of the route. If you wish to join us for just one day, there will be no cost.

School + food = hope

We are so thankful to those who pray for our work, and hope that you'll be able to join us on our pilgrimage this September.

It costs just £19.15 to feed a child for a whole school year, and so any money raised through sponsorship for the walk will help us reach hungry children, and give them hope for a brighter future. You can find out more about raising funds and sponsorship here.

To book your place on the pilgrimage, or if you have any questions about it, please feel free to reach out to me on roy.peachey@marysmeals.org.

You can also get involved in our other charity events taking place across the country.
