Win the home you design, help feed children at school
We're a charity partner for house prize draw, Keys or Coffee, founded by TV property expert Stuart Douglas
At Mary’s Meals, we're always looking for new and creative ways for people to support our work. We are excited to share that we are a charity partner for a new house prize draw called Keys or Coffee, founded by TV property expert and long-time Mary’s Meals supporter Stuart Douglas.
Keys or Coffee is a property prize draw where people can buy tickets for the chance to win a home that the public help to design through online votes on colours, layouts and finishes. For around the price of a coffee, someone will win the keys to a fully renovated home, and each entry helps support a group of partner charities, including Mary's Meals.
How the Keys or Coffee house draw works
- Enter the draw
Supporters can buy a ticket through the Keys or Coffee website, or use the free postal entry route set out in their terms and conditions. Paid and free entries have the same chance of winning. - Follow the journey
Over time, Stuart and his team renovate the property, asking the public to vote on real design choices through social media. Tiles or timber, bold or neutral, cosy or minimal, the audience help shape the finished home. - Watch the draw and claim the prize
The draw date and time for the main house prize will be listed on the Keys or Coffee prize page. Winners are contacted by email and supported through the process of claiming their prize.
The draw is set up as a free prize draw, as there is always a no cost postal entry method available. That means it is not classed as gambling in the same way as a lottery or betting product.
You can find full details, terms and conditions and live prize information at www.keysorcoffee.com.
How this supports Mary’s Meals
Keys or Coffee has chosen a small group of charities to benefit from its flagship house draw, and Mary’s Meals is one of them.
For every ticket sold in the house prize draw, a share of the ticket income is donated to charity. For every four tickets sold, Mary’s Meals will receive 10p which is roughly the cost of providing one Mary’s Meals school meal.
That means:
- Someone gets the fun of taking part in a house prize draw
- Somebody will win a home
- Children in some of the world’s poorest communities can receive life changing school meals
It will not replace regular giving or direct donations, which remain the most effective way to support our work, but we hope this partnership will:
- Raise a few thousand pounds in unrestricted income
- Introduce new people to Mary's Meals for the first time
- Help people who are already interested in the house draw to support our work at the same time
Who is behind Keys or Coffee?
Keys or Coffee was created by Stuart Douglas, a TV property expert known for programmes such as Channel 4's Worst House on the Street, Can’t Sell Must Sell and George Clarke’s Flipping Fast. Stuart is also a long-time supporter of Mary’s Meals, alongside his sister, TV presenter Scarlette Douglas.
The draw is also being supported by a range of well-known personalities and influencers who will help promote the campaign and highlight the charities it supports. Their aim is to build a positive movement around home design, community and giving, where every entry helps to fund good causes.
Why Mary’s Meals is taking part
We are careful about which partnerships we accept. With Keys or Coffee we felt there was a good balance of:
- Potential to reach new audiences
Keys or Coffee is aimed at people interested in homes, interiors and property shows, many of whom may not yet know about Mary’s Meals. - A clear, simple entry route
People can choose to buy a ticket or use the free postal route, and full information is published on the Keys or Coffee website. - A real benefit for children
Every ticket bought provides around the cost of a school meal, helping us keep our promise to feed children in their place of education each school day.

Keys or Coffee is an online prize draw platform created by TV property expert Stuart Douglas. They run a house prize draw where the public help design the home and one person wins the finished property. A share of ticket income supports several partner charities, including Mary’s Meals.
For every £3 ticket bought for the house draw, a portion goes to partner charities. Our share is around 2.5p per ticket. The total amount we receive will depend on how many tickets are sold.
The house prize draw is set up as a free prize draw, not a lottery. There is always a free postal entry route alongside paid tickets, and both routes have the same chance of winning. Keys or Coffee set and manage the terms of the competition. Visit www.keysorcoffee.com for more.
You can enter by visiting www.keysorcoffee.com and following the steps on the site. You can choose to buy tickets online or use the free postal entry route described in their terms and conditions.
Keys or Coffee runs the competition, manages the entries and contacts the winner. They also handle all prize arrangements. Mary’s Meals does not run the competition itself and is not responsible for the prizes.
Yes, and we are very grateful when people choose to do so. The most effective way to help us reach more children with life changing school meals is to give directly, start a regular gift or fundraise in your community.
