Why Mary's Meals provides school meals
Mary’s Meals provides life-changing school meals to children, like Lettie, living in some of the world’s poorest communities.
Lettie had a difficult start in life, but the promise of a nutritious meal every school daybrought her back into the classroom, where she gained an education and better opportunities for her future.
Too often, hunger holds a child back from the future they deserve, keeping them out of school and communities stuck in a cycle of poverty… year after year. With the promise of a daily school meal, we can overcome this barrier and allow a child to unleash their full potential.

Help young people like Lettie
We first met Lettie at just 12 years old, in our film Child 31 She had lost both her parents and, facing severe hunger, she had to leave school to care for her younger siblings.
In our new film Lettie, we meet her again in the present day.Today, Lettie is a healthy 25-year-old, a mother, a professional, and a valued member of the Mary’s Meals team in Malawi – living proof of the long-term impact of the work we are proud to support together.
Lettie’s story shows how a simple school meal can unlock a child’s future – how access to education, proper nutrition, and the support of others can change the course of a life and shape generations to come.
