Volunteers in Ethiopia cooking food for children at school

Individual philanthropy

Partnering with you to create lasting, generational change.

Mary’s Meals currently feeds more than three million children every school day, with our work spanning 16 countries around the world.

Our approach

Our Philanthropy and Partnerships team partners with individuals and families who believe in the power of school feeding to tackle hunger and support education.

We partner with supporters who make a donation of £1,000 or more, helping to deliver nutritious school meals and unlock educational opportunities in communities with the greatest need.

Whether you have a clear philanthropic vision or are exploring how to make a meaningful difference, we offer personalised, one-to-one support to shape a partnership aligned with your values and the impact you want to achieve.

  • Transparency: Bespoke impact reporting, strong governance, and responsible stewardship of every gift.
  • Discretion: Respect for privacy at every stage, with recognition handled according to your personal preference, including full anonymity if desired.

Strategic and transformational philanthropy

We partner with donors to align philanthropic ambitions with high-impact principal and transformational gifts, reaching thousands of children every school day.

Opportunities for partnership may include:

  • Sustaining school feeding programmes in conflict-affected or climate-vulnerable countries, regions, or communities.
  • Supporting the expansion of school feeding into new countries or underserved areas.
  • Funding core organisational costs to strengthen long-term sustainability and resilience.
  • Underwriting major growth or innovation initiatives that deliver additional benefits to the communities we serve.

Bespoke and family giving

For those seeking a more personal or values-led approach, we offer bespoke giving opportunities shaped around your family’s priorities and long-term vision.

This may include:

  • Family or next-generation philanthropy.
  • Support through charitable family trusts and foundations.
  • Clearly defined outcomes, milestones, and reporting tailored to your interests.

Structured and planned gifts

Mary’s Meals works with a range of established giving structures and vehicles, including:

  • Donor-advised funds
  • Gifts of shares or other assets: We can facilitate gifts of shares through the platform Sharegift. Please get in touch with Amirah Houry for support.
  • Leaving a gift in your will: 1 in 10 children served by Mary’s Meals receives support thanks to the generosity of our legacy supporters. Find out more about legacy and bequest giving.
