Spotlight: Feeding During Conflict Part 2
In this month's episode, Nina and Anoushka return for the second part of our series on Feeding During Conflict, turning their attention to two of the most complex and long-standing programmes in Mary's Meals' portfolio: Ethiopia and South Sudan.
From the devastating civil conflict in Tigray and the fragile process of rebuilding that followed, to eighteen years of presence in South Sudan, this episode explores what sustained commitment really looks like on the ground.
Nina and Anoushka discuss how our partners Daughters of Charity and Mary Help Association have continued to adapt through every stage of conflict, from serving meals in IDP camps to distributing take-home rations and restarting school feeding as communities returned home. They also look at the compelling impact data from both countries, and reflect on what it means to keep a promise to children not just through a crisis, but across decades and generations.
