Spotlight: Feeding During Conflict

In this month's episode, we explore one of the most pressing realities of Mary's Meals' work: how we continue to feed children when conflict erupts around them.

Published on

With 6 of our 16 programme countries currently affected by conflict, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Haiti, Ethiopia, and South Sudan, this is the daily reality faced by our teams and partners on the ground.

We discuss the logistical challenges of operating in volatile environments, from collapsed supply chains and impassable roads to school closures and displacement, and how our trusted local partners continue to adapt and find a way to reach the children that need our support most.

They also reflect on what a daily school meal means for a child living through conflict: the routine, the safety, the simple but profound promise that Mary's Meals will continue to deliver.

This is part one of a two-part series. Join us in June when we go deeper on Ethiopia and South Sudan.

As always, if you have any questions or reflections, we'd love to hear from you at philanthropy-uk@marysmeals.org
