New Year’s resolutions that make a difference

Make a resolution to support Mary’s Meals and help us reach more hungry children this year with our nutritious school meals!

It’s that time again when many of us make New Year’s resolutions. If you are looking for charities to support in 2023, why not set yourself a goal that could make a world of a difference with Mary’s Meals? Here are some of ways you can support our work.

1. Fundraise

Challenge yourself this new year to raise money for charity. This winter, we’re asking our supporters to Raise Some Dough to help feed hungry children.

Our free baking fundraising pack has everything you need to organise a charity bake sale – including a mug-shaped cookie cutter, donation box and poster.

And that’s not all! Some of the UK’s favourite celebrities – including Great British Bake Off winner Giuseppe Dell’Anno, Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Taylor, and actors Joanne Lumley and Tamzin Outhwaite – have shared their favourite biscuit recipes in our exclusive recipe book.

Or if you’re looking for an active fundraising event, why not take part in the Artemis Pentland Peaks hiking challenge or the Kiltwalk? Both events have many routes available so there’s a walk for all abilities.

You can set up a fundraiser for any activity. No matter what you choose, from baking, to walking, to dancing – there are many ways to raise money for Mary’s Meals this year.

2. Give your time

Volunteering for charity is a wonderful way to connect with others and work together for a cause that means something to you. With more than 60 Mary’s Meals volunteer groups across the country, you’ll have the chance to meet regularly with people, in your area or online, who all want to help feed hungry children.

Our work is only possible because of our many dedicated volunteers across the globe – from people here in the UK who raise awareness, to those who cook our nutritious school meals in the countries where we work.

3. Donate to Double The Love

If you’re thinking of charities to donate to this year, time is running out to make your donation go even further with Mary’s Meals! Until 31 January 2023, as part of our Double The Love campaign, donations to Mary’s Meals will be matched by a group of generous supporters, up to £1.5 million.

5. Leave a gift in your will

Leaving a gift in your will of any size to Mary’s Meals will help to feed desperately hungry children and bring hope to future generations. We have partnered with the UK’s largest will provider,  Farewill, to offer a free will writing service to make leaving a donation to charity simple for our supporters.

We are already reaching more than two million children every school day with life-changing school meals. We believe that, through the generosity and kindness of people who leave gifts in their wills, we can end world hunger. Find out more

It costs just £19.15 to feed a child for a whole year.
